Syncron Web Foundation consists of two products, Web Foundation User Interface Builder for development, and Web Foundation Security Extension for DMZ deployments.

User interface design toolkit
The Web Foundation User Interface Builder is a GUI toolkit based on asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax) solution which makes it faster and easier for organizations to build, customize and deploy web-based applications and components that have the rich feel and functionality of desktop software.

Ajax takes advantage of technology that already exists in the browser, eliminating the need for client-side plug-ins, applets and client-side software installation and maintenance. The Syncron Web Foundation User Interface Builder lets organizations capitalize on the lower costs of web applications while delivering the rich graphical look and feel of desktop-installed software and components.

The toolkit lets you quickly create sophisticated web-based applications that run in a standard web browser. It consists of an extensible, component-based architecture that enables the reuse and customization of objects. The toolkit and its framework are delivered with a library of Syncron standard components that can be configured to meet your specific GUI requirements.

Security extension for DMZ implementations
Syncron Web Foundation Security Extension provides the technology for secure communication when integrating your external trading partners via Internet. It supports a DMZ implementation with separate deployments of the front-end GUI application and the backend business logic.

The front-end GUI is deployed on a web server within the DMZ, open to the Internet, while the backend process logic is deployed on an application server within the private LAN, with easy access to the internal infrastructure.

Many organizations will use a DMZ to deploy enterprise applications which needs to be accessible via the Internet and this puts new requirements on the IT infrastructure. The Syncron Web Foundation Security Extension supports web services (via HTTP and HTTPS) and JMS for data communication between the front-end GUI and the backend process logic.
