March 17, 2021 – Swiss Bühler Group has expanded its usage of Syncron PriceTM to take full advantage of system features and effectively maximize the accuracy and efficiency of its price management for spare parts. Since 2017, Syncron Price has enabled the Bühler Group to optimize its price management on a single, centralized, digital platform. With additional tools and even more extensive usage available, Bühler Group is for the first time conducting a price revision involving numerous business units completely in the Syncron system.
The Bühler Group is an internationally operating technology group based in Uzwil, Switzerland. The company develops process technologies that are used primarily in the food and automotive industries and include food processing, die casting and surface coating. The technologies are used in smartphones, solar modules, lipstick and banknotes, among other products and solutions.

Fully Digitalized Pricing
In the past, Bühler used an Excel environment for pricing, which became too small and time-consuming due to the growth of the company, as well as the data administration and interface maintenance it required. The challenge: All business units should implement pricing according to the same rules. In 2017, the Bühler pricing team began the search for an intelligent overall solution that would transfer the existing pricing strategy to a digital environment and bring all business units onto the same platform. Bühler was able to accomplish this with the Syncron Price software from after-sales software provider Syncron.
“With the Excel solution we were forced to look at every single part,” said Markus Koch, product manager at Bühler. “This type of micromanagement is a thing of the past since we started using Syncron Price. The tool allows us to automate the processing of our data using intelligent algorithms.”
Efficient Features with Future Potential
Regarding the individual features of the solution, Markus Koch particularly emphasizes the Equation Builder. Bühler uses it to create price equations in the revision process, which has become significantly faster and more efficient as a result.
“Previously, we needed several weeks to prepare the price revision. Now a few days are sufficient,” adds Dovile Akuckaite, pricing manager at Bühler.
Another feature Bühler utilizes is the Analytics function of Syncron Price, which allows users to create their own dashboards and create ad-hoc reports that make the before-and-after results of the audit more comparable. The result: increased pricing efficiency and a higher level of transparency across all business units.
“We want to make even better use of the existing range of functions, for example in the area of competitor pricing and price feedbacks,” says Markus Koch. “In the future, we are aiming for more intensive monitoring and would like to price our spare parts business company-wide on the Syncron platform.”
The increased efficiency already leaves Bühler’s pricing managers significantly more time to refine the pricing strategy. And this improves customer service, which is becoming increasingly important for Bühler.
